A police officer in Lagos was arrested on Saturday after SaharaReporters published pictures of him drunk in public while in uniform.
SaharaReporters broke the story on Saturday with pictures of the officer grossly intoxicated in the Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos. A crowd of onlookers gather around the officer, whose first name the pictures revealed as Aminu, while he struggles to hold himself upright. A colleague attempts to assist the officer, who is seen straddling a motorcycle.
The incident took place on Friday after Jummah prayers.
The Punch reports that the Lagos State police released a statement saying that in response to the photos, the command had identified the officer in question and commenced an investigation as part of its disciplinary procedures.
