At least 60 people were killed and 43 others others injured in bomb explosion in a Borno State village market today, an eyewitness and a vigilante source said.

At least 60 people were killed and 43 others others injured in bomb explosion in a Borno State village market today, an eyewitness and a vigilante source said. The blast is just the latest in a series of bombs in Borno State from the Boko Haram terrorist group.

The explosion occurred at Sabon Gari market in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State at about 1:40pm while the market was in full swing.

Eyewitness Abubakar Jojori told SaharaReporters the casualty numbers by phone after he fled the scene to Biu. A vigilante source confirmed the number killed.

‎Civilian Joint Task Force member Ibrahim Biu said that more than 60 bodies have been recovered from the scene and the injured were taken to Biu General Hospital.

A hospital source at General Hospital Biu said more than 40 people have been brought in from the bomb blast.
