Modu Ali, a fleeing resident, told SaharaReporters that Boko Haram came to the village at 6:30pm and killed at least six civilians before abducting the four women.

“We fled into [the] bushes last night because we knew that we [were] the target, but this morning we discovered that all our cattle, rams and foodstuffs [were gone],” Modu said.

Local vigilante Abba Kolomi told SaharaReporters that the six killed by the terrorists consisted of four men and two children.

Bale Mamman village is about five kilometers from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

Loud explosions were heard near Maiduguri yesterday as the Nigerian military fired artillery guns in response to the attack.
