Former Gov. Audu Abubakar Wins APC Party Guber Primaries In Kogi

A former governor of Kogi state, Audu Abubakar has defeated 26 others including, Yaya Bello, a candidate linked to Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.

Mr. Audu won the majority of the 3044 votes in the party primary election that ended around 4:00 am Nigerian time earlier today. The Kogi state governorship election is billed to take place in November 2015.

 Mr. Abubakar was governor of Kogi state until 2003. After his tenure, Mr. Abubakar was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for money laundering and theft of Kogi state funds. Mr. Audu's trial is ongoing as at the time he was declared winner today.
