This same relative added that the gunmen “gained access through the creek and after abducting him, they disappeared through the creeks.”
Gunmen kidnapped Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong-Ekpe, brother to the former Director General of the Department of State Services Ekpenyong Ita, in the early hours of the morning according to a Vanguard report.
“Several armed men just burst into his house at 4am Friday morning, and whisked him away” through a narrow canal, according to a family member speaking with the media.
This same relative added that the gunmen “gained access through the creek and after abducting him, they disappeared through the creeks.”
The Police Public Relations Officer for Cross River State, Mr. Hogan Bassey, confirmed the incident, which took place in Creek Town of the Odukpani Local Government Area (LGA).
Mr. Bassey said that the police would ensure that the victim would be re-united with his family.
