Buhari Arrives In France, Meets To Discuss Boko Haram

President Buhari and his entourage also have scheduled meetings with French oil company Total, the concrete manufacturing company Lafarge, and African ambassadors stationed in Paris.

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Paris, France today for an official three-day visit with French President Francois Hollande and senior French officials.

Accompanying President Buhari is his National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno, his Special Adviser for Media and Publicity Femi Adesina, and other staff. President Buhari and his staff met with French officials in the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

President Buhari and his entourage also have scheduled meetings with French oil company Total, the concrete manufacturing company Lafarge, and African ambassadors stationed in Paris.

It is expected that security and the fight against Boko Haram will be discussed in depth during these meetings. France has strong strategic, military, and economic ties with Nigeria’s neighbor Chad, which is an important ally in the fight against Boko Haram in the region.
