A statement issued on Monday by the National President Boboye Afolabi Adebimpe, and General Secretary Orimoloye Ifeoluwa, said the news of Mr. Falae’s abduction was devastating considering his role in the socio-development of Akure.

The statement, exclusively obtained by a SaharaReporters correspondent in Akure, added that it was most disturbing that the abduction happened on the birthday of Mr. Falae, who is 77 years old.

It reads, “on behalf of the members of the National Association of Akure Students, we want to condemn expressly the abduction of an elder statesman, a native of Akure, by the name Oluyemisi Falae.”

It continued, “we want to state categorically, that we have been briefed on the ugly occurrence. In the briefing lie conflicting reports, although the news regarding his abduction still remains valid.”

His contributions to the development of Akure town are significant and cannot be over-emphasized.

“It is most devastating to have learnt that the occurrence was on his birthday and in his home town where he retired after years of active service to Nigeria,” it also said.

The Nigerian Police Force have been requested to place more effort into locating and rescuing Mr. Falae.
