Nigerians Express Disappointment As September Ends With No Ministers Announced

September 30, 2015

President Buhari’s Senior Special Adviser for Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has issued press statements and told SaharaReporters personally that the Ministerial nominees would be released by the end of September.

Many Nigerians have expressed disappointment as the Senate closed its plenary session today without receiving the list of ministers from the Presidency. The Buhari government made promises that the list would be given to Senate President Bukola Saraki by today. The conclusion of the Senate today, and the public holiday tomorrow, has lead many to wonder whether the list will be released today or later this week.

Yesterday, during an exclusive interview with SaharaTV, President Buhari said that he must consult State Governors before discussing his ministerial picks publicly.

President Buhari’s Senior Special Adviser for Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has issued press statements and told SaharaReporters personally that the Ministerial nominees would be released by the end of September.

Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, queried Bukola Saraki whether the list has been released, but Senator Saraki stated that he was optimistic the Senate would receive it before the end of their 12:30pm session.

Media reports earlier stated that Ita Enang, the Senior Special Advisor for the National Assembly (Senate), departed the United Nations General Assembly in New York City yesterday with the list of Ministerial nominees.
