Boko Haram Insurgents, On Bikes, Attack Borno Community

Boko Haram insurgents riding bicycles yesterday attacked residents of a community in Borno State, killing two people and injuring four, according to members of a vigilante group.

The militants rode on bicycles to attack a remote village of Kirikasama‎ near Damboa, in Damboa local government area of Borno state yesterday, killings at least 2 civilians and injured 4 others as well set the whole village ablaze. 

"They came on bicycles at 8:30 pm and opened fire on civilians at killings at Kirikasama near Damboa town," said Abubakar Jojori speaking by phone to a correspondent of SaharaReporters from Biu town.

He added, "We went there to Kirirkasama village with some military men, but then the insurgents had burnt down the village. The  injured victims have been taken to Biu General Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment."  

Kirikasama is about two miles away from Damboa, which is some 78 miles from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
