Boko Haram militants carried out a suicide attack targeting Muslim worshippers praying at a mosque in the Molai area of Maiduguri at 6:21 PM this evening. SaharaReporters previously reported that the blast took place near the Molai market, but it has since learned that their target was the mosque.
Sources on the ground have said that the explosion was massive.
A hospital source said “The casualty figures cannot be confirmed at this time. However we can confirm that the attack took place at a mosque in Molai.” This source added that large ambulances were dispatched to the area to convoy the dead and injured.
