9 Persons Killed During Mosque Bombing In Maiduguri

At least 9 Muslim worshipers have been killed and at least a dozen injured in a deadly bomb blast on Mosque in the city of Maiduguri earlier today.

‎A suicide bomber was pretending to worship at a local mosque at the back of the Federal High Court at Jidari Polo area in Maiduguri metropolis early this morning, when the bomber detonated a powerful bomb killings at least six people on the spot and injuring a dozen.

A members of Youths Vanguard, Baba Kashim, who participated in evacuating victims, said that six worshipers died in the early suicide attack. 

''We evacuated six dead bodies and several injured from the Mosque explosion, there are several people critically injured so the death toll may rise '',  Baba Kashim said. 

A hospital source said they have received six corpses and 12 injured persons with some critically injured, the critically injured have been taken to the  University Teaching Hospital in Maiduguri. Our reporters later learnt from a hospital source that three more people died in the hospital.

In recent months, Boko Haram militants have intensified their suicide bombings that had left hundreds of civilians dead in the insurgent ravaged Northeast region.
