The National Industrial Court in Lagos has ruled against the economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC) by declaring the removal and subsequent sack of Michael Nzekwe a prosecutor in Legal and Prosecution Department of the agency illegal.

Nzekwe had challenged his sack by the agency before  Justice Babatunde Adejumo of the court in Lagos citing as a case of wrongful dismissal by the EFCC.

In a judgement today, the Industrial Court ordered the EFCC to reabsorb Nzekwe into its workforce and pay him all his salaries and entitlements since his last day at work for the agency.

A ruling is scheduled for December 16, 2015, in a second case of wrongful dismissal filed at the court by another employee, Juliet Ibekaku.
