Mr. Alaibe’s confession directly contradicts his recent claims that he did not negotiate with APC leadership for political appointments. Mr. Alaibe has a history of negotiating for lucrative political jobs and waged political war against former President Goodluck Jonathan to procure positions in the Bayelsa State Assembly, the Nigerian Senate, and the position of Managing Director of the NDDC for himself.

During a press conference Mr. Alaibe admitted to parleying for political appointments in the past, “My dear friends, supporters and loyalists, my previous forays into the political arena ended amicably on the negotiation table. The negotiations were not of particular pecuniary benefits to me alone. So many persons have become senators, members of the House of Representatives, State, Commissioners and so on".
