Four Arrested In Ogun With “Explosive Devices”

Parading the four suspects on Thursday at Eleweran Police Headquarters, Abeokuta, the police said the gang came from Delta State to Ogun State to meet their ring leader for operations.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested four members of a gang with explosive devices and cables in Ayepe town of the state.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Celestine Okoye, said the suspects included Gelebele Aitlabor, Moses Demene, Mohammed Kaidiri and Friday Saborom.

The police boss said the suspects were arrested following information received by policemen on patrol at Ayepe town, that a gang was sighted with strange bags.

“On searching the bag, four explosive devices with three connection wires were recovered from them.

“The suspects confessed that they were coming from Delta State to meet their gang leader named Wisdom in Ogun State, who is now at large,” he said.

The deputy commissioner said on further interrogations, the suspects claimed they were in Ogun State to rob.

In a similar development, 10 suspects were arrested at various locations in the state for alleged crimes which ranged from shop breaking, fraud, cultism, armed robbery to murder.

Some items recovered include iron rod, damaged padlock, mobile phone, locally made double-barrel pistol, live cartridges, battle axe, locally made axe, knife, charms, chisels, hammer and the sum of N45, 000.

The police boss said all suspects would be charged to court on completion of investigations.
