Forcebray Ebiene, age 27, was arraigned at the Brass Division of the High Court sitting in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, which is presided over by Justice E. T. Okara. He faces a two-count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping of the late Adigioo-Eseni.

The offences, according to the DSS, are punishable under the State kidnapping laws.

However the matter was adjourned until December 8th by Justice Okara who also remanded the suspect to the Federal Prison in Okaka.

Mr. Ebiene, who confessed to the crime, was arrested by DSS operatives in Ahoada, Rivers State where he had gone to access his bank account.

The suspect, who claimed to be an indigene of Brass in an interview with newsmen, said he got N800,000 as his share from the ransom. He did not know the victim was the uncle to the former Governor and begged the family of the deceased for forgiveness.

"I accept responsibility for my action but I am begging the family for forgiveness. Please have mercy on me," he begged the deceased family.
