SaharaReporters can confirm that two female suicide bombers blew themselves up at the Kano GSM market on Wednesday, killing scores according to early reports.
Eyewitnesses told a SaharaReporters correspondent at the scene that the explosion occurred after the terrorists arrived at the market and surrounded themselves with large crowds of people.
It was also learned that the two explosions took place at both gates of the market. According to sources at the scene the first explosion was near a generator located at one market gate. The second explosion took place near the main entrance of the market.
The State police commissioner, Alhaji Muhammad Katsina visited the scene of the blast but causality details are not know at the time of publication.
