A newswire connected to the ex-NSA, PRNigeria released a statement saying Mr. Dasuki was picked up by agents of the DSS and taken into custody at their "Yellow House” headquarters near the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Mr. Dasuki latest arrest follows the arrest of several of his former staff members, arms suppliers, and a former minister of state for Finance who was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission yesterday.

Mr. Dasuki allegedly withdrew $2.1 billion from the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation in the dying days of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s regime.
