The Court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld the election of Senator Godswill Akpabio, (Akwa Ibom North West (Ikot Ekpene) Senatorial District). He defeated the All Progressives Congress candidate, Inibehe Okori.

Late last night, SaharaReporters erroneously reported that the court had voided the election of Akpabio, who is a former governor of the Akwa Ibom. We realized today that this report was false, and we hereby apologize to our readers for such an egregious mistake.
