Announcing the removal at a special palace sitting in Kano on Monday, the emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II said the removal of the Village Head was as a result of his gross negligence to duty which the emirate council found disturbing noting that it was an offence for one to smear the good image of the traditional institution.

According to the monarch, the Village Head was stripped of his turban as his offence bordered on gross official misconduct which the place was all out to jettison for the sake of safeguarding the credibility of the revered monarchy in Kano stressing that it is an abiding obligation on the shoulders of every traditional ruler to exhibit a modicum of good conduct.

He called on all traditional rulers in Kano Emirate Council to be disciplined and shun any act of negligence and gross official misconduct. He went on to stress that with discipline and absolute commitment to duty nothing could ever stand in the wheel of the Kano Emirate Council to maintain its adored status.

It was learnt on good authority that the embattled Ganduje younger brother was allegedly enmeshed in series of unwholesome practices which had prompted his subjects to report him to the emir.

What is now on the lips of many people interviewed by our correspondent wondered why the governor's younger brother should be removed at the time his senior brother is in the saddle of power.
