Mr. Kyari issued the warning on Monday following news that an official document, signed by him, was leaked to the public.

“I do not know who was responsible for that [leak of document]; I do not know why anyone would do that. But please make sure such a thing does not happen again,” he said during an official send-off function for retiring officials.

Mr. Kyari added that “anything that is written will come out anyway, it is not a secret, but the bad this is for it to come out before it is made publicly by the relevant authorities.”

“So please do not fall into this trap of somebody asking you to bring a letter, because if by accident you are found or the letter traced to you, clearly it would not be something that we would tolerate,”  Mr. Kyari warned.

The Chief of Staff also discouraged gossiping by staff during work hours.  He informed the workers that he would not allow them to engage in “small talks” at the expense of their jobs.
