The Supreme Court has affirmed Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State as the duly elected Governor of Abia State. The apex court’s ruling nullifies the earlier decision by the court of appeal to cancel the gubernatorial elections and to swear in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Dr. Alex Otti.

The reasons for the judgement will be given on February 26, 2016.
In a unanimous decision, the 7-man panel faulted every decision made by the court of appeal as related to the disputed governorship elections in the State.
