The source disclosed to our correspondent that the terrorists trekked to the village at about 8:30am and threw improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at villagers. The Boko Haram terrorists looted the village of foodstuffs before burning it down completely, according to this source.

The source, who spoke with our correspondent from Biu, said that Boko Haram has been weakened significantly and lacked the necessary weaponry to engage the military in direct confrontation.

“Five people were killed on Friday, including a young girl, when Boko Haram invaded our village near Damboa town. Some women were injured. We went after them in a gun battle, some were killed but four were arrested. We brought them to Damboa,” according to the Civilian JTF source.

He added that in addition to the lack of weaponry, Boko Haram’s access to supply routes has been blocked by the Nigerian military.
