Five Armed Bandits Arrested By Rivers State Police Command

"The arrest came after a sting operation carried out by a team of policemen at the Ubima pipeline in Ikwerre Local Government Area (LGA) on 31/03/2016 at about 0500 hours.”

The Rivers State Police Command have arrested five suspected criminals and recovered several weapons during a raid on Thursday.

According to Public Relations Officer Ahmad Muhammad, "The arrest came after a sting operation carried out by a team of policemen at the Ubima pipeline in Ikwerre Local Government Area (LGA) on 31/03/2016 at about 0500 hours.”

Mr. Muhammad identified the suspects as Okachi Isaiah, Benjamin Ohahuru, Enyele Eze, Orakwu Innocent, and Ibuchi Would.

Police recovered various weapons in the raid, including two AK-47 rifles, one pump action gun, one Beretta pistol, nineteen rounds of assorted live ammunition, three magazines, and eight cartridges.

"Preliminary investigations indicate that the gang is responsible for a series of armed robberies and kidnappings around Ubima and its environs,” he added.
