Five APC Members, One APGA Member Win FCT Chairmanship Elections

Five All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates and one All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate have been declared winners of the April 9, 2016 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chairmanship elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Abdullahi Adamu (APC) won in the Abuja Municipal Area Council contest with 27,482 votes over Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Bitrus Tanko, who won 21,965.

In the Abaji Area Council, Abdulrahman Ajayi (APC) won the chairmanship election with 13,515, narrowly defeating Yahaya Garba (PDP), who totaled 10,632 votes.

The Bwari Area Council chairmanship seat was awarded to Musa Dikko (APC), who defeated Andrew S. Gwani Igu (PDP), 18,066 to 13,279.

APGA candidate Danze Mustapha Adams won the Gwagwalada chairmanship contest with 15,590 votes, giving him the edge over Abubakar Jibrin Giri (APC) who tallied 14,569 votes.

Abdullahi D. Galadima (APC) won the Kuje Area Council election in a tight contest, securing a total of 15,175 votes to Ishaku Tete Shaban’s (PDP) 13,650.

Joseph K. Shazin (APC) was declared the winner of the Kwali Area Council chairmanship election with a total of.15,309 votes while Daniel Ibrahim (PDP) tallied 13,673.
