Two female suicide bombers detonated their strapped explosives at about 7pm on Wednesday, killing at least at least seven internally displaced persons and themselves. More than a dozen people were wounded, according to sources speaking with SaharaReporters.

Banki is located in Bama Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State.

In the last three days Boko Haram have intensified their attacks in Borno State where an unspecified number of insurgents and soldiers have been killed.

A local who spoke to SaharaReporters said two female bombers “maneuvered their way into the Banki IDP camp at about 7pm, killing seven people and injuring a dozen. But the death toll may rise due to little children who were critically wounded [in the attack]."

SaharaReporters gathered some of wounded persons have been taken to Cameroon for treatment.
