SaharaReporters has exclusively obtained a copy of the confidential list of senior army officers invited to provide information in the ongoing audit of defense equipment procurements.
The document, which was authored by the Committee on Audit of Defense Equipment Procurement in the Nigerian Armed Forces from 2007-2015, and signed by the Committee president Jon Ode, contains a list of army officers and business executives connected to certain suspicious procurements.
The document reads in part: “[the Committee] requests the presence of senior officers and CEOs of companies listed at Annex A to appear before it.”
“The invitees are required to clarify issues arising from NA procurements between 2007-2015 before the Committee sitting at the ONSA by 0900hrs daily. AHQ is requested to cause the appearance of senior officers and CEOs of the companies before the Committee on states stated against their names,” it continued.
This document, dated March 8th 2016, comes following a major scandal embroiling top officers of the military including the former Chief of Defense Staff Alex Badeh, the former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki, and others.
Security agencies have already seized several expensive Abuja mansions from some top former officers implicated in various investigations.
