The suspect was captured on May 9th, 2016 hiding away at some friends' places in Ikeja.
An autopsy result, which has not been made public, states that the late Ronke Shonde died of respiratory seizure. A police preliminary report said a "mark of violence" was found on the deceased while she was found lying dead in their home.
The Magistrate, I.O. Adelaja, has ordered remand of the suspect at the Ikoyi prison pending approval from the State's Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The magistrate adjourned the matter till June 24th, 2016.
