Federal High Court Justice sitting in Lagos, Justice Ibrahim Buba, ruled today that the caretaker committee constituted over this past weekend to seize control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is illegal.

The caretaker committee was set up to replace the National Chairman Ali Modu Sheriff. In his ruling Mr. Buba authorized the Inspector General of the Police, Solomon Arase, to ensure members of the caretaker committee did not violate his mandate.
