Twitter Takes Down Niger Delta Avengers' Account

The Niger Delta Avengers had been using their Twitter account to claim attacks on oil facilities and issue threats to the federal government and oil companies.

Twitter has taken down the Niger Delta Avengers’ account after the group boasted that it had carried out five attacks on oil facilities.

According to reports, a spokesperson for Twitter said that the account was suspended because it violated the website’s policy regarding violence and terrorism. The rule states, “you may not make threats of violence or promote violence, including threatening or promoting terrorism.”
