United Bank of Africa(UBA) Plc has rejected attempts to link it with the ongoing socio-political events in Turkey. In a terse statement issued b​y Charles Aigbe, Head of Communications at UBA, Plc. in Lagos on Tuesday, the bank described media reports linking it to the situation in Turkey as spurious. The statement said: "In light of this, we believe it is necessary to categorically state that UBA has no involvement in or connection to these accusations, which are clearly false."

 The bank said it remains focused and firmly committed to its goal of building Africa’s premier banking institution.
