SDP Adopt ‘Option A4’ In Picking Its Candidate In Ondo, Fixes August 20 For Primary Poll

The Social Democratic Party [SDP] in Ondo State says it will be adopting ‘option A4’ in chosen its candidate for the November 26th Governorship Election in the State.

Korede Duyile disclosed this to SaharaReporters sources in Akure on Tuesday night.

Already, the leadership of the party has announced August 20th, 2016 for the conduct of its primary election.

Oladele Olugbemi Ogunbamerum, State Secretary of the party made the announcement in a short statement made available to journalists.

The statement disclosed that the aspirants are to pay the sum of N2 million to obtain the party’s expression of interest form and another sum of N500, 000 for the developmental and administrative fund.

The aspirants are also to pay N5 million for the nomination form, the statement further said.

Just two aspirants, Olu Agunloye and Pius Daodu, are contesting the party’s ticket ahead of the elections.

Speaking further, Mr. Duyile said the party would adopt the option at a congress where its candidate would be picked in line with the guidelines of the party and that of the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC].

He added that the aspirants of the party would be given an equal opportunity and a level playing ground at the party’s congress.

“Our [party] candidate would emerge at the congress where members would be allowed to choose between the two aspirants.

“I can assure you that the process of chosen the candidate would be transparent and democratic in nature.

“The two aspirants should also be rest assure and have confidence in us [leaders] that the process would be free and fair,” Mr. Duyile told our sources.
