A top chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Dr. Abdulmalik Mohammed Durunguwa, has been kidnapped, according to a source in the office of the Inspector General of Police.
Durunguwa, who is a large scale farmer and businessman, was kidnapped on Friday in Kaduna at gunpoint.
Our source, who is also part of the Police anti-kidnapping squad, said the Police and other security operatives were working round the clock to ensure Durunguwa’s rescue, refusing to make any further comments that might jeopardize the ongoing operations.
Durunguwa, another source said, owns a big company that deals with computer accessories.
The family and the security agencies have not yet to establish contact with the kidnappers, another source said. As of the time of publishing this report, the police had yet to issue an official statement regarding the kidnapping of the chieftain.
