Nigerian Olympian runner Divine Oduduru finished in second place in the 200 meter run today with a speed of 20.34 seconds. This feat places him just behind famed sprinter Usain Bolt from Jamaica who finished first with 20.28 seconds.
The race, in the ninth heat, is the fastest time for a Nigerian athlete in this event in history.
Nigerians took to Twitter to celebrate Mr. Oduduru’s success saying:
Divine Oduduru...Letâs not heap pressure on the lad. A place in the finals will be a laudable feat even if he finishes outside the podium— paul alfred (@paulalfred) August 16, 2016
