Ondo APC Members Petition Police Boss Over Forceful Takeover Of Party’s Secretariat By Sponsored Thugs

A group of aggrieved members of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) have asked the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Ibifuro Hildra-Harrison, to investigate the unlawful and forceful entrance into the party’s secretariat by hired armed thugs.

This group of aggrieved members, under the auspices of ‘Ondo State All Progressives Congress Movement Against Imposition’, made the request in a petition issued to the state police boss in Akure.

The group is led by Tolu Babaleye, Adewale Williams, and Austin Pelemo - all registered members of the opposition party in Ondo state.

They claimed to have suspended Mr. Isaacs Kekemeke as the party’s chairman and subsequently appointed Mr. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye as the acting chairman and also locked the gate to the entrance of the party’s secretariat on No 17, Oyemekun road in Akure.

According to them, the lockdown was to avoid a breakdown of law and order as a result of tension generated around the party secretariat due to the suspension of the embattled chairman, Mr. Kekemeke.

SaharaReporters exclusively obtained a copy of the petition that was routed through their solicitor and lawyer, Titiloye Charles.

Mr. Charles is an activist and human right lawyer based in Akure, our correspondent reported on Thursday evening.

In the petition, Mr. Isaacs Kekemeke was alleged to have sponsored the hired armed thugs numbering about two hundred to disrupt activities at the secretariat of the party on Oyemekun road on Wednesday.

However, SaharaReporters gathered that a copy of the petition has been sent to President Buhari, the Secretary to Government of the Federation, and the party’s National Chairman.
