Officials from the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) has announced that the Edo State gubernatorial election will hold, as originally scheduled, this Saturday. This news follows INEC sources originally disclosing that plans were underway to demobilize staff and resources to the polls in Edo State.
This source disclosed to SaharaReporters that the Nigerian police have stopped providing police personnel to support INEC operations, particularly in the distribution of sensitive election materials.
