Sources speaking to SaharaReporters have disclosed that a massive scam is underway in Lagos State whereby Paul Tunde Oluwabiyi, the Permanent Secretary for Local Government and Community Affairs, is demanding N1 million from 57 LGAs and Local Council Development Areas in the State.
The scam calls for each area to pay the N1 million sum as the fee for the services of "HOA Ventures," which allegedly served as a consultant for “publicity and airing of Local Governments/Local Council Development Areas programmes on TV Continental.” a TV station owned by the National Leader of All Progressives Congress party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The notification of these charges, made known in a letter on Lagos State Government stationary and signed by Mr. Oluwabiyi, was circulated on September 2nd, 2016. The letter also claims that HOA Ventures served as a consultant for these programs between May and August of this year.
These same sources discussing this fraud with a SaharaReporters correspondent disclosed that this scam is being perpetrated without knowledge of TVC management.
The letter, which was distributed to all 57 LGA/LCDAs, provides account information for HOA Ventures including the Zenith Bank account number 1011435034.
