Buhari Bows To Pressure, Puts Up 2 Presidential Jets For Sale

October 4, 2016

The Office of the National Security Adviser advertised the sale of two airplanes on Tuesday.

The federal government has advertised the sale of two aircraft in the presidential fleet, in an apparent move to reduce the number of aircraft on the presidential air fleet.

The fleet is believed to hold as much as 10 airplanes, and Mr. Buhari has been criticised for maintaining the large fleet.

Garba Shehu, the president’s senior special assistant on media and publicity, hinted in September that the number of aircraft in the fleet would soon be reduced.

The Office of the National Security Adviser advertised the sale of two airplanes on Tuesday.

The advert said the aircraft that are currently up for sale are Falcon 7x and Hawker 4000.

The bids are to be quoted in dollars.

Mr. Shehu confirmed the planned sale to PREMIUM TIMES.

“It is absolutely correctly. The federal government has put up an advert for the sale of some of the aircraft on the presidential fleet,” Mr. Shehu said.
