EFCC Interrogates FUTA Vice Chancellor, Bursar

Mr. Daramola allegedly received furniture allowance annually as opposed to once every four years, as approved.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) interrogated the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology – Akure (FUTA), Adebiyi Daramola, and the Bursar, Emanuel Ademola, on Wednesday over their alleged involvement in a case involving abuse of office and misappropriation of funds.

Mr. Daramola allegedly received furniture allowance annually as opposed to once every four years, as approved. He was additionally accused of paying himself housing allowance while living in the Vice Chancellor quarters at FUTA. The Vice Chancellor was further alleged to have misappropriated funds from university subheads to finance unrelated projects without receiving prior approval to do so.
