Kidnapped BUK Lecturer Regains Freedom

The Director of Public Affairs at the university, Malam Ahmed Shehu, who confirmed the release of the abducted lecturer, said the lecturer has been reunited with his family in Kano State.

The Spokesman of Bayero University in Kano State confirmed on Sunday the release of its lecturer, Saminu Aliyu-Kiri, who was kidnapped in Kaduna State on Thursday night.

The Director of Public Affairs at the university, Malam Ahmed Shehu, who confirmed the release of the abducted lecturer, said the lecturer has been reunited with his family in Kano State.

“As I am talking to you now, the lecturer has regained his freedom and has been reunited with his family,” he said.

According to him, it was by the miracle of God that the lecturer was freed.

It would be recalled that Aliyu-Kiri, from the faculty of computer science, was kidnapped along with two other persons in Kaduna State while he was returning from an official assignment in Shaki, Oyo State.
