Gov. Mimiko Has Paid Millions Of Naira To Mobilize Militants, Hoodlums To Cause Unrest In Ondo State On Monday, Says APC

The opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has alleged that Governor Olusegun Mimiko has concluded plans to deploy militants and thugs towards causing chaos in the state on Monday.

The allegation was made in a statement obtained by SaharaReporters in Akure. Signed by Mr. Abayomi Adesanya, the APC statement alleged that Mr. Mimiko and his hirelings are planning to cause unrest in the three senatorial zones of  the state.

"We have been reliably informed of the intense mobilization of thugs and militants, running into thousands, by the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.

"Their aim is to protest and unleash terror on the good people of the State from Monday, October 31st, 2016, in Akure, the State Capital, Ondo Town, Akoko and Owo, Ore and Okitipupa, in the three senatorial districts of the State," claimed Mr. Adesanya.

He also  alleged that Governor Mimiko has already paid millions of naira from public purse to mobilide militants and thugs from neighboring Edo and Delta states.

Mr. Adesanya called on President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Inspector-General of Police, Director-General of State Security Service and other security agencies in the country to beef up security in Ondo State.

"We want to state that, the good people of Ondo State are desirous of peace and they deserve such.

"Their peace should not be disrupted and compromised by a few self-seeking individuals for their political interests and personal gains," Mr. Adesanya said.

Saharareporters learned that as Governor Mimiko met with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja last week, the President promised he will send the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami to look into his legal complaints and give him a call, the governor has complained associates that the AGF has not bothered to call him to "discuss" how to help restore his handpicked candidate, Eyitayo Jegede as the People's Democratic Party candidate in the state.
