Two Killed, Scores Wounded As Boko Haram Burn Down Borno Village

November 15, 2016

A large number of civilians were, on Monday, wounded when Boko Haram terrorists invaded Wasada community in Askira/Uba Local Government Area in southern Borno State, a vigilante source has told SaharaReporters.

The terrorists, who stormed the village on motorcycles at about 2pm, shot with abandon, killing at least two civilians.

The source stated that the whole village was burnt down, with many civilians still missing. Livestock and food items, he added, were carted away by the terrorists.

"We received distress calls from our members in Wasada village, some of 30 kilometers from Uba, that they were under siege. We went there but nothing was left, as the village had been razed. We found two corpses lying on ground and many villagers with gunshot wounds,” he said.

The source and his colleagues moved some of the villagers to Uba. He, however, said many remain missing.

“I can tell you that many are still missing. Our men are on patrol, as we speak, in the hope that they could rescue more villagers.
