Among those in the convoy was Saeed Salisu Sambo, caretaker committee chairman of the Gwoza Local Government Council, who disclosed that no troops or government officials were killed in the attack.
"I must commend the gallantry of the troops led by the duo Patrol Commanders of the 121BN, Captain S. Suleiman and Lt. N. Ayuba," Mr. Sambo said.
Some troops sustained injuries and are currently being treated at Brigadier Maimalari Barracks Hospital.
