A statement today by the General Manager, Public Affairs of NCAA, Sam Adurogboye, named the new directors as Grp. Capt. Edem Oyo-Ita (Director of Air Transport Regulations), Ahmed Abbas Sanusi (Director, Human Resources and Administration), Bilikisu Adamu Sani (Director of Finance and Accounts), Odunowo Tayyib Adetunji (Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards), Engr. Ita Awak (Director of Airworthiness Standards) and Lawrence Mathew Kwajok, (General Manager, Air Navigational Standards).
The Federal Government has appointed new directors for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to replace eight of the eight it fired on Friday.
Two of the eight - Adamu Abdullahi, Director of Consumer Protection; and Ayodele Sasegbon, Director of General Aviation - were recalled 24 hours after their disengagement. No reasons were given for the action, leading to nationwide speculation of a split within the administration, with the better-connected directors receiving a stay of execution.

It would be recalled that government had on Friday unexpectedly announced the sacking of all the directors.
Our correspondent learnt from an NCAA source that the Director-General, Capt. Muhtar Usman, conveyed the sack message to the affected directors during a meeting at the agency’s headquarters at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos.
Those affected were: Benedict Adeyileka (Director of Airworthiness), Justus Wariya (Director of Air Transport Regulation), Austin-Amadi Ifeanyi (Director of Human Resources), Abdullahi Sidi (Director of Operations and Training), Salawu Ozigi (Director of Finance and Accounts), Joyce Nkemakolam (Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards), Aba Ejembi (Director of Administration) and Emmanuel Ogunbami (Director of Licensing).
