Why A Corrupt Senate Rejected Magu By Segun Anigilaje

March 21, 2017

Afraid that his dubious past might be exposed last week Mr. Dino Melaye cried out that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission was planning to indict him. A few months ago an anti-corruption body had asked that the senator be made to explain his stupendous wealth since he left the House of Representatives in 2011.

Another one reported Senator Melaye to the Code of Conduct Bureau for illegally opening and operating a foreign account in the United States. Now the Senate has opened an investigation into his alleged certificate forgery.
The senator who has become the running dog of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki is trying desperately to cover up for his boss.

No one can successfully cover up Senator Saraki who is involved in forgery of Senate rules, criminal padding of budget, N300 million money laundering, criminal diversion of depositors funds in Societe General Bank, forgery of customs documents, stealing of N2.5 billion from Paris refund, contravention of code of conduct for which he is standing trial etc.

Many other senators like Danjuma Goje, Joshua Dariye, Godswill Akpabio, Stella  Oduah, Theodore  Orji, Abdullahi Adamu, Murtala Nyako's son are being investigated or prosecuted by the EFCC.

So it was not difficult for a corrupt Senate leadership to rally flow corrupt colleagues to reject Mr. Ibrahim Magu as EFCC chairman. Let Senator Melaye defend his certificate forgery case and illegal operations of a foreign account with which he wiped the tattoo of his former wife, Alero in New york while he was at the UN for an official duty.
