Police in Rivers State have confirmed that three out of the five passengers on a God Is Good bus who were kidnapped on Monday morning on East-West Road have been released.

Police spokesman Nnamdi Omoni announced this in Port Harcourt.

Mr. Omoni said five passengers were kidnapped from a bus traveling from Port Harcourt to Lagos on East-West Road in Rivers State at 7:30 a.m. The incident occurred when the bus was traveling through Emohua community.

He told reporters that the police were “on top of the situation” to ensure that the remaining two passengers were released.

Efforts to speak with the manager of the transport company in the state proved abortive, as he was said to have traveled with other management staff to the scene of the incident.
