NSCDC Nab Two Culprits For Kidnapping Baby In Ondo State

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested and paraded two kidnapping suspects, among other criminals, in Ondo State.

Pedro Awili, the new Commandant of the Corps in Ondo State revealed, this on Wednesday night through an electronic statement issued to journalists in Akure.

Mr. Awili said intelligence reports led the NSCDC to the culprits, who were arrested after demanding a large ransom from the victim’s parents. The suspects are now in police custody.

In a related development, NSCDC officers arrested suspects for oil bunkering and theft.

Mr. Awili said his officers nabbed a truck driver with registration number KSF 636 XH loaded with 45,000 liters of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) on Akure-Ogbese Road for unlawfully diverting the product.

He explained that four of these culprits were apprehended inside their J5 buses which had inbuilt tankers used for transporting about 22,000 liters of Adulterated Automobile Gasoline Oil.

Mr. Awili said that another three suspects that specialize in duping unsuspecting members of the public were also caught at Ogudugbuja community in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.          

He gave names of the three suspects as Ojo Nike, Seun Oke and Bakare Temitope after defrauding one Miss Agoi of N52,000.

The NSCDC boss noted that the culprits will be charged to court for prosecution at the end of its investigations on the case.

He asked the good people of the state to always furnish the NSCDC and police with vital information that would lead to the arrest of criminals sabotaging security efforts.

SaharaReporters learned that the items recovered from by NSCDC include a Toyota Avensis car and three pistols.
