Boko Haram terrorists, under the embattled leadership of Abubakar Shekau, have just released a screen grab of its latest video where it claimed to have recorded the aftermath of a fierce gun battle with the Nigerian Army yesterday.
A high profile member of the terror group has admitted to Sahara Reporters that the group is now on the defensive and under "unprecedented pressure," following intense air and ground attacks by the Nigerian Army.
However, the group in a short statement in Hausa on the screen grab stated it holds evidence of military casualties and weapons, it seized during the failed Friday attack in its strongest hide out in the Sambisa forest.
A source knowledgeable about the activities of the group over the years said this latest video could be an effort by the leadership of the group to encourage the remaining fatigued fighters to hold on.
More details of the video soon.
