November 21, 2017

The devastating attack, believed to have taken place last week, saw the group's fighters using military equipment apparently captured by Boko Haram during a failed military operation on the terror group's stronghold in Sambisa Forest on November 10.

A new video produced by the Abubakar Shekau faction of Boko Haram shows the terrorist group killing scores of soldiers in Sabon Gari, a village in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The devastating attack, believed to have taken place last week, saw the group's fighters using military equipment apparently captured by Boko Haram during a failed military operation on the terror group's stronghold in Sambisa Forest on November 10.

The new video, with a running time of eight minutes and 56 seconds, also shows scenes where underage Boko Haram fighters drove into Sabon Gari before the attack. Their arrival in the village was followed by an intense gun battle with the Nigerian Army.

The video also contains scenes showing mutilated bodies of soldiers killed in the attack.

The attack on Sabon Gari, said Ahmad Salkida, a journalist and Boko Haram expert, indicates that the group still has the capacity to launch deadly attacks despite being weakened by the military blockade, which has inhibited Boko Haram’s ability to obtain arms from west and central African countries.
