Nigerian Army troops participating in the counter-insurgency initiative, Operation Deep Punch, on Wednesday, jubilated wildly as they recovered a Vickers Main Battle Tank (VMBT) and a Vickers BL (VBL) howitzer captured by Boko Haram last year in Gwoza, Borno State.
The troops also killed a Boko Haram terrorist, who was manoeuvring the tank, as he made to flee. SaharaReporters gathered that the VMBT and VBL were recovered intact.
