Judge Hearing Case Challenging El-Rufai's Sack of Kaduna Teachers Dies

Justice Lawal Mani, the presiding Judge at the Kaduna division of National Industrial Court of Nigeria, NICN, is dead.

Justice Mani who was hearing the suit challenging Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s sack of 21,780 teachers died at the age of 63 and was buried on Sunday, a source told Daily Trust.

He was also handling the case of illegal impeachment of Mr. Garba Muhammad as the Chairman, Kaduna State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

President of the NICN, Justice Babatunde Adeniran Adejumo at the residence of the late judge in Kaduna described late Justice Mani as a humble, honest and diligent judge.

Justice Mani was born on 1st July, 1955 at Bungudu, in Bungudu local government area of Zamfara.

He graduated from the Law Department of Ahmadu Bello University in 1991.
